TactiSMART 043: Speed Racer Mini-Sling Shot System R & D

Ironic, the most Iconic use of sling-shots in the movies is....brace yourself...the intolerably disobedient Spritle kid in the otherwise FABulous Speed Racer cartoons.

Ugggh.

Better than no publicity at all, huh?

High Rate-of-Fire

Sling shots in general have a higher Rate-of-Fire (ROF) than crossbows; comparable to bows--grab-your-projectile-shoot, grab-your-projectile-shoot etc.

The problem with sling shots is their projectiles are small  and have to be grabbed, held & placed into the sling "pouch" as the power band is pulled back--then released when aimed in on the target.

Time could be saved by having the shot--steel balls aka BBs--close to or on the sling shot as we demonstrated on the large Crossman Folding Sling-Shot (FSS):

Another possibility is wearing a magnetic wrist band to hold several shots that just have to be plucked 1-at-a-time from there and eased into the power band's pouch.

If in a high risk area that cannot be avoided that is WOKETARD (nihilist hedonists) corrupted in favor of criminals--you might not be unjust-law, legally able to carry a firearm on your person.  The sling shot might be your only 15 meter/50 feet range reach stand-off weapon you can have on you.

It's the HOW of having it on you that we're wrestling with to ascertain the best practices.

1st possibility is a Velcro flap pouch worn directly on your TacPants/Shorts' Riggers belt or the Fanny Pack's belt--albeit narrow. FWIW, we need an improved Fanny Pack with a 1" or 2" wide belt.

Our EDC-proven SERE Kit Fanny Pack is already starting to resemble the "Bat Utility Belt" aka too pouch-cluttered from Batman--drawing possible unwanted attention from WOKETARDED Karens.

If the WOKETARD has nice tits...maybe that's not a bad thing?

Cut a length of 550 paracord for your MS3 wrist retention lanyard. Use a magnetic ring to help hold steel BBs before firing. Large 3/8" BBs work easiest to grip & fire--but only 8x will store in a capsule compared to 33x small 1/4" BBs. Capsule is a KRAZY GLUE container. Complete MS3 fits into Multi-Tool Pouch that can be worn on Rigger's belt on TacPants, Fanny pack etc.

So you look like Batman?

Our current next-best-thinking is to place the MSS in your left or right front TacPants pocket with steel BBs in the bought separately, Crossman plastic box in the pocket opposite you choose. Lefties have the MSS in the right front pocket, the ammo in the left front pocket. Vice-a-versa for Righties. YES, you'll have to remove the MSS and ammo box and place them into clean TacPants when exchange is needed.

Upon realizing you are in a threat area, you dump out all the BBs from their plastic box into the TacPants front pocket they already are in. If you're wearing the magnetic wrist band, transfer some BBs to it to reduce loading time by not needing to fish into your TacPants pocket to get BBs.

Upon or better BEFORE threats appear, remove the MSS and have it in your launch hand ideally in a wrist retention loop. Cut to the length you need for your launch hand to hold the MSS and the lanyard to drape around its wrist--a piece of 550 paracord.

For night firing, apply oil-based gloss WHITE paint on the left/right "Y" of the MSS facing you. Oil-based, nail polish gloss WHITE is durable, easy to apply and stays on much longer than water-based acrylic paint.

Next, apply oil-based Glow-In-The-Dark (GITD) paint over the white paint, "Y" aiming marks.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Get all EDC "dressed up" in TacPants--or "down" in TacShorts--and polo or buttoned-down shirt with the  Speed Racer MSS System inside and with magnetic band on launch arm's wrist.

Have someone time you as you smoothly dump BBs from their box into the TacPants pocket they are in, present MSS with retention lanyard around launch wrist. Note the time. Return the MSS to its TacPants pocket.

Next, time presenting the MSS and grabbing 1x BB from its TacPants pocket and getting it into the power band pouch. Note the time.

Now practice the immediate above smoothly and FIRE! 1x BB at a pre-positioned target. Note the time.

Practice the 1x shot again, again for time & accuracy.

Next, practice barrage fire from 1x BB at a time from the TacPants pocket ammo dump and from BBs held on the magnetic wrist band.

Where Did All the BBs Go?

They finally gave Trixie some breasts! Yahhh! Mom Racer has always had them xxxxxoooo

In these dark & evil times in WOKETARDED Amerika, ammunition can't be wasted--or in this case--lost. We have created a BBstopBOXTM (BBsBTM) that you can DIY clone using a medium-sized, square box with a wooden backboard you apply targets like the Birchwood-Casey SHOOT-N-C stick-ons to and floor piece covered in stick-on magnetic strips to catch BBs when shot into the box for recovery/re-use.  We've found the stickiness on the otherwise superb shot-showing, Birchwood-Casey targets to be weak--but this can be quickly solved by spray-on adhesive from an aerosol can.

We'll cover BBstopBOXTM DIY construction in detail in the next TactiSMART blogger post.

Commander Ian Fleming RNVR 1939-51 wrote the James Bond 007 books/movies for the Information Research Division of MI6-SIS who he worked for as a Master Spy under journalistic cover from 1933-39 and 1945-1964 when he was murdered (as concluded by legendary investigative reporter, Jim Marrs to me) to prevent him publicly condemning the Warren Commission white wash of the CIA's group ambush murder of his friend, President John F. Kennedy.

James Bond is REAL.
