TactiSMART 079: USMIL All Fogged Up? Goggles Need Fans
As stated in our last research post, we have a problem with fogging whenever we cover the eyes and face to offer even minimal ballistic protection.

Infantry so far cannot wear
"motorcycle helmets" to try to stop projectiles; a reality
we've known for a long time such that we advocate stopping bullets farther away
from the body at a GUNSHIELD on the end of your weapon--just like
machine guns and artillery pieces have when wisely configured.

A longtime favorite of U.S.
Special Forces groups, the ESS Profile TurboFan is better and tougher
than ever. Following a series of vast improvements, the Profile TurboFan
represents one of the most effective night-vision-compatible weapon against
lens fogging.
Powered by a single AA
battery, the TurboFan system draws fresh airflow in through the lower
edge of the goggle frame and forces humid air out the top at around 13,000 rpm.
Even when perspiration or temperatures are extreme, this two-speed system will
exhaust humidity and dramatically reduce lens fogging for over 150 hours of
continuous operation (low speed).
This improved
fog-elimination system features the robust PowerPod battery pack, now with a
push-button switch and repositioned near the back of the head for snag-free
operation. New technology provides constant fan speeds as battery power
diminishes, and an "Auto-off" timer shuts down the fan system
to preserve battery life if accidentally left on. Water-resistant casing
facilitates all-weather operation.
The extra-thick, 2.8mm
polycarbonate lenses offer maximum impact protection and 100% UVA/UVB
filtration. ESS's advanced ClearZone FlowCoat lens treatments provide
the optimal combination of anti-scratch coatings on the outside of the lenses
and anti-fog coatings on the inside.
All Profile Series lenses
provide 100% UVA/UVB protection and distortion-free optical clarity. Profile
Series Laser Protective Lenses (LPLs) are available.
The Profile TurboFan
is compatible with the ESS U-Rx and P-2B Rx Inserts.

...are both out of stock,
I ordered what I could--an inexpensive airsofter version by
made-in-Communist-China, PROGOGGLE:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/263982258474
My suspicions judging from
the eBay pictures proved true: they are big enough to be worn Over-The-Glasses
(OTG) --ESS when asked about their Profile Turbofan's prescription RX
OTG capabilities they replied with a NO--yet didn't offer to mention their Land
Operations SWDGs can.
The PROGOGGLE's fan-vented
SWDGs also innovate by the fat rear elastic strap being connected by a
Quick-Release (QR) buckle so you can WRAP them on instead of having to STRETCH
the strap around everything; helmet, neck etc.
LOW/HIGH Speed Button
Summary/Conclusion
Thus, we urge ESS to add a battery-powered fan to its Land Ops SWDGs with OTG capabilities or make their Profile Turbofans OTG-capable. An USB charging port should be provided. The rear strap should be connected by a large QR buckle like the PROGOGGLE's fan goggle.
