What America is suffering is the age-old human misbehavior of Feel-Good, Do-Stupid (FGDS).

AFTER RUMORS CIRCULATED THAT RIOTING AND LOOTING WERE HEADED TO RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS, POLK COUNTY SHERIFF GRADY JUDD TOLD RESIDENTS TO SHOOT LOOTERS.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd recently sent a strong message to rioters and looters potentially headed to his neck of the woods: just don’t. The Florida sheriff warned that he encourages his constituents to carry guns. And they have the green light to use them.

“I would tell them, if you value your life, you probably shouldn’t do that in Polk County,” said Sheriff Grady Judd. “I encourage them to own guns, and they’re going to be inside their homes tonight with their guns loaded. And if you try to break into their homes tonight and try to steal, to set fires, I’m highly recommending they blow you back out of the house with their guns.”

The sheriff addressed rumors on social media regarding riot activity heading into residential neighborhoods. He quickly warned criminals that residents would respond, reported wate.com. However, while extending the county’s curfew, the sheriff also acknowledged the senselessness of George Floyd’s death.

“The death of George in Minneapolis at the hands of that police officer was outrageous,” Judd said. “Had that police officer done here what he did there, he would have been locked up in the county jail by sundown.”

“But Minneapolis is not Polk County,” Judd continued. “And I want to say unequivocally that the community here is unbelievable … But please understand, that if you come here to riot, to loot, to injure people, we’re going to lock you up in the county jail.”

The sheriff further acknowledged the need for peaceful protests, but condemned the looting and rioting, reported wate.com.

Ultimately, Sheriff Judd empowered his constituents. He didn’t say they could break laws. Nor did he say they could go out and murder protestors. He said they could defend themselves and their loved ones.

America Has Been Burning Before: BUFF Firefighters Not Enough for Urban Structure Fires

At the dawn of the Industrial Age (1900) American cities began to grown in horizontal & vertical size--and catch on fire--faster than arm/hand pump fire engines could put the latter out.

Again, WHY did firefighters persist with hand-pump fire engines that clearly were not working?

You guessed it: FGDS. 

Fireman became very BUFF aka muscle-bound pumping wheeled fire engines sending out sadly weak streams of water. As American cities burned: Chicago, San Francisco--women drooled over these courageous and manly-looking firemen. We had Sparky the firedog, too. Everyone loves firemen. 

Everyone except the INSURANCE COMPANIES losing their shirts having to pay-out settlements for buildings left in ashes. They insisted that FGDS stop and motor-driven fire wagons and fire trucks be used instead of hand/arm pump wagons. 

The FGDS revelation is that like my previous RACKET THEORY and HIVE THEORY conclusions, that humans like to keep problems in play as it keeps them busy & rich, and want a comfortable cum-by-ya of like-minded sheeple all living together in as much urban creature comfort as possible--negating the destructive forces of nature--TBATE--but embracing soft hedonism instead of challenging themselves by solving old problems and going forward to overcome new problems developing STOICAL character--and happiness.

I'm troubled by the sad ending of the 1920s Rif War movie, "March or Die" starring legendary actor, Gene Hackman as French Major William Sherman Foster; back-story is he was kicked out of the U.S. ARMY's West Point and instead served with distinction in the French Foreign Legion in WW1 before leading a force in the North African desert.

The movie ends with the leading man, a young officer bidding the lovely Catherine Deneuve farewell from his Moroccan desert fort; she asks him what he sees for the future?

He says, "happiness". 

Now if it were up to me...if Lady Catherine stayed with me in the fort I'd say "happiness", too but the young officer has developed the inner stoical strength to be happy even if in uncomfortable circumstances. 

This is a good model of why every American should do 2 years of National Service (NS) to get away from the nihilist, hedonistic, urbanized "hood" and see that there's more to life than consumerism, instead building stoical character--and happiness. NS would NOT just be military service but include police, medical, high speed train, conservation, space and spy corps service options. Multi-option, NS is what smart nations do to insure their young people don't become hedonistic drug-thugs--like George Floyd.  

Which leads to the next stunning, military FGDS revelation: 

WHY Did the Bureaucratic British Army Refuse to Adapt to World War 1 and World War 2?

As we've shown before, the British Army while WW1 trench deadlock was raging refused to adopt Semi-Automatic Rifles (SARs) that were offered to them like the Howell Automatic Rifle (HAL) conversion that would have given their SMLE bolt-action rifleman firepower generation to suppress enemy machine gunners mowing them down by the thousands. The Gary Cooper movie, "Sergeant York" does a great job showing half his unit wiped out by German machine guns and aimed Kar98 Mauser bolt-action, rifle fire while they are holding long wooden sticks with bayonets attached doing frankly NOTHING to save their own lives. The movie is wrong to not depict some French Chauchat Light Machine Guns (LMGs) attempting to lay down suppressive fires--when not jamming.

OK, British Army gets a pass that WW1 was difficult, yadda, yadda and they did pioneer tracked, armored siege engines as moving shields--aka tanks thanks to LTC Winston Churchill's persistence.

However what's the excuse for not having SARs ready for WW2 aka Round 2 of the Great War, 20 years later? Why no Sub-Machine Guns (SMGs)? Why no full-power automatic 40mm cannon like the Swedish Bofors to dominate Long Range Battles (LRBs) instead of being Stuka precision dive-bombed and swarmed by Panzers such that they were running for their lives all the way back to Dunkirk? Re: the beginning scenes of the Commander Ian Fleming 30 Assault Unit movie, "The Age of Heroes". 

Thankfully, the British Army did adopt the fabulous top-magazine feed, Bren LMG which clearly saved-the-day from Medium Range Battle (MRB) onward, but after the Germans closed to less than Short Range Battle (SRB) ranges, the infantry section aka squad with bolt-action SMLEs was firepower overmatched by lots of nasty MP38/MP40 SMGs firing pistol bullets on full automatic. The Russian Army won WW2 in large part by mass-producing 75-round drum, Ppsh41 SMGs.

So why did the British Army knowing it needed automatic weapons between the wars stick to bolt-action, SMLEs when there was a low-cost adaptation to make them into SARs with 20-round box magazines that conceivably could keep the section's Bren LMG fed, too?

FGDS. 

Manually operating a bolt to fire a rifle FEELS GOOD.

Withstand the icky bugs 2nd Indiana Jones, Temple of Doom movie--which I don't even own despite the breasty-lovely Kate Capshaw (Mrs. Steven Spielberg) showcased in it--and see British Army Soldiers bolt-action rifle firing the thuggies to death into the crocodile-infested waters below. 

So there you have it--FGDS strikes again! this time causing horrific WW2 losses of over 100 million death, untold maimed-for- life and damages lasting to the present day. Want to understand today? Reflect back on 1945. 

In a great display of GMTA, this YOUTUBE video milhistorian JMANTIME has figured this all out, too--concluding had the British Army had automatic weapons like SARs even the complacent U.S. ARMY fielded in 1936 with the M1 Garand, a combination anti-aircraft automatic cannon to flame Stukas from the skies and Panzers below, Norway, Belgium and France may have held preventing German conquests in-the-bud.
