TactiSMART 010: Need .22LR for EDC/SHTF?: K.I.S.S. Answer is CardGun & Adapter--Warding Away Thugs & Hunting for Wabbits
---Robert Farago: "Open Carry Backlash" thetruthaboutguns.com/open-carry-backlash/
During the Obama ammunition grab, many American patriots went crazy stock-piling ammo--to include tiny .22 LR which can be owned in the thousands taking up little space & weight. .22 LR is the minimalist ammo type that can be shot to get small game food and/or self-defend.
Constitutional Every Day Carry (EDC): .22 LR versus Thugs
The right to defend yourself with things like guns is an inalienable right; it is derived from God aka NATURAL LAW--actually not from any human laws.
The U.S. Constitution's 2nd Amendment (slang: "2A") is now being used as the basis for "Constitutional Carry" laws but be advised that we shouldn't have to need ANY law to do something which is already our divine right to do. While Constitutional Carry laws are vital reforms America needs as it grants both open & concealed carry without paying the government fees and opening oneself up to government personal dirty tricks, I am NOT advocating CONCEAL carry for self phone-lookalike guns, you Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) snobs. Some of us live in OPEN CARRY states but are smart enough to not have an X placed on ourselves in the digital data bases of potentially corrupt sheriffs (many are Secret Society, FREE MASONS) who are going to pay their 1st gun confiscation visits to their county's CCW holders. Moreover, some of us don't want to constantly cough up money and submit to a DEEP STATE background check in light of the realities that the FBI constantly lies about decent people to keep them out of government service--do a FOIA and Privacy Act request on yourself and discover the possible lying digital McCarthyist shit they have concocted about you--claiming of course its backed by NSA 24/7/365 illegal surveillance means. SPYLYING.

The most powerful and smallest 9mm x 19mm Luger semi-automatic pistol is the 8 + 1 shots KelTec PF9 which should be James Bond's new gun carried secretly in a velcro-secured "STEALTHGUN" holster in a designated side of his tactical pants or openly in a holster on his rappel-capable, Rigger's belt.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRnXe395ghE
However, James Bond Citizens (JBCs) open-carrying guns that look like guns might "trigger" the 50% American immoral HEDONIST libtard wokester-jokester liars to make a false police report against you resulting in you being hassled and them not being punished for their criminality. JBCs should have a badge saying "OPEN CARRY" by their holster to remind libtards that this behavior is more than legally kosher--and it has nothing to do with being a wannabe or a phony as some gun snobs pontificate on the internet, and no--it doesn't make you appear to be impersonating an officer. America: nation of immature back-stabbers looking to find fault with everyone else--this tendency applies to both HEDONISTS AND STOICS. READ what the "OPEN CARRY" badge says. Have the state legislature make it abundantly legally clear that wearing an "OPEN CARRY" badge is kosher and desirable in light of back-stabbers. Here is a great "Second Amendment" badge that will do the job nicely.

This stunning badge will look great next to your gun permit license.
Measuring 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″, the high-luster finished badge is outfitted with a heavy duty pin and clasp style attachment.

The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects the right to keep and bear arms. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, along with the rest of the Bill of Rights.

Why do people choose to open carry instead of concealed carry?
There are a few reasons a person might open carry:
Legal: the person may not have a CCW permit or one that is recognized in that state. More states allow constitutional open carry than constitutional concealed carry.
Practicality: open carry allows you to carry larger weapons. I don’t really recommend carrying around long guns for defense but a full-sized handgun would be fine.
Comfort: it allows you to carry in ways that might just be more comfortable because you don’t have to make concealment your priority. It also allows you to dress more comfortably in hot weather.
Some people will say this makes you the person who gets shot first. I call BS. Prove it. Show me all these open carriers getting shot.
****
I'm with Sean, CCW snobs are frankly "element of surprise" pussies claiming they will take action who don't want to deter thugs by open carry, who instead actually have a built-in escape plan for themselves to not take action in event of a crime--they are only thinking about themselves. EVERYONE IS SUPPOSED TO POLICE THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS, the professional cop is a fairly new but intrinsically failed invention--a victimology racket that America was NOT founded on. In the military "police" means cleaning up after a mess has already happened--not stopping the mess.

The more powerful .380 caliber Ideal Conceal self-phone lookalike appears to have a belt clip built-in:
idealconceal.com
If you are James Bond or just happen to like & EDC a .380 Walther PPK, this gun could be a helpful back-up staying to the same cartridge type via the K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Stupid) principle.
Check you state's laws--you might have to lock your Self-Phone Lookalike Gun (SPLG) in a locked case in your car's trunk when driving. No problemo: a superb gun case with cable to secure to your trunk's spare tire arm can be had for under $20 and can be by key or combination. If during a high-stress situation you think you'll have a brain fart, use the key model and have a key on your EDC key chain and 1 other hidden location known only to you.

Shit-Hits-the-Fan (SHTF): .22 LR vs. Bugs Bunny
Many gun nuts out there have a gun fetish wanting more & more guns. This is your divine right. However, some of us realize only a finite amount of weight can be placed upon our bodies (60 pounds) and have us remain at least 1 mph mobile so we can't have a separate gun for every purpose--that if slung at our back we may lose like befell the CIA/SEALs losing their 40mm Grenade Launcher (GL) during the Benghazi firefight or we cannot stop a firefight to go to a vehicle to get the new gun's capabilities--ideally the needed functions should already be co-located with your primary weapon ("A bird-in-hand beats 9 in-the-bush" wisdom) as the 20mm aka 12-gauge Assault ShotGun or 40mm GL under the AR15/M16/M4 combination offers. In previous TactiSMART articles we demonstrated how a Picatinny Rail Attachment ASG can easily mount under an AR like the AR15/M16/M4 making them an AR/ASG. The weight of a GL can be avoided by having a few bullet-trap, Rifle Grenades (RGs) which could be stick hand-throw grenades, too if manufactured that way. Don't hold your breath for the MILINDCOMP empowering Soldiers in such ways.
The Firearms Blog (TFB) has a SHTF video offering weapons packages, one includes a full-sized, .22 LR Ruger 10/22 rifle for small game for survival food hunting that frankly, I cannot afford its 5 pounds and long stick-likeness slung at my back.
If I were to carry a separate .22LR, why not something more compact than a wooden-stick 10/22, say Stoner's AR-7 that detaches into its own floating buttstock?

QUOTE:
At sea level, the speed of sound is roughly 1127 feet per second. When a moving object, such as a bullet, breaks that threshold, there is an audible shock wave that sounds like the crack of a bullwhip.
A standard .22 LR load delivers around 1200 fps and 140 foot-pounds of energy at the muzzle. The typical subsonic .22 LR offers around 1050 and 100, respectively, a negligible difference to any rabbit. So while the energy to cleanly kill small game remains, the downrange crack vanishes. And as smallbore competitors know, subsonic .22 LRs are more accurate than supersonic .22s because they exhibit 37 percent less wind deflection due to the disproportional increase of air resistance near the sound barrier. When subsonic .22 LR ammo and a suppressor are combined, you’ve got a whisper-quiet, deadly accurate small-game firearm.
All the major ammunition manufacturers offer subsonic .22 LR loads. CCI’s Subsonic HP, for example, reduces velocity to 1050 fps and therefore lowers the decibel level to around 68, almost half the normal high-velocity .22 LR load. (Any .22 Short cartridge will accomplish the same thing, if your gun will shoot them.) However, subsonic rounds may have trouble cycling the actions of semiautomatics reliably. If you shoot a single-shot, pump, or bolt-action rifle, you’re good-to-go. If you shoot a semiauto, try Winchester’s new M-22 Subsonic .22 LR, which fires a 45-grain bullet at 1090 fps and is designed specifically to work with self-loaders. In any case, with subsonic ammo, your rimfire will still be hard on game but easier on the ears.

Excellent accuracy and velocity in a true ultra-quiet plinking Round! Quiet-22TM is about as loud as standard air rifle ammo, but offers much better downrange performance. It's perfect for legal shooting areas where noise may be a concern, and makes a great "soft" introduction for the young shooter. And this round is great for shooters using bolt-actions or single-shot rifles (but is perfectly safe in semi-automatics, though it might not entirely cycle the action). So save your ears... 68dB @ your ear - up to 75% quieter in perceived noise vs. standard .22 LR rounds…get Quiet-22 Ammo and ditch the muffs.

12 gauge/20mm ASG or full-length shotguns can be fitted with .22LR adapters to remove sentries with sub-sonic ammo--as well as economically hunt small game for food when you tire/run-out of Meals, Ready-to-Eat (MRE) grin. We will examine these options in an upcoming TactiSMART article.
